Lamar grew up in East Austin and turned a genuine love of dogs into a career built on patience, not punishment. A 7-month program at the Austin Animal Center and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator certification later, the idea behind East Lamar was simple: dogs do better in a home than in a kennel.
That same belief carries over to Neighbors ATX, the sister dog park Lamar leads on South Congress. And East Lamar is proudly Black-owned: not a footnote, just part of who we are and why East Austin trusts us with their dogs.
